About Tao
Tao Groove is an independent electronic musician in Detroit, MI. The bulk of his work was developed from the mid to late nineties. His catalog is currently 14 albums of original material and remixes, with several Live recordings as well.
He’s played with killer DJs such as Terrence Parker and Jerry The Cat, as well as helped coordinate some major events. This included his role with Logixhouse, which helped to organize The Art Gallery of Windsor’s live stage for The 2004 Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Movement, alongside David Scott and techno godfathers Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson.
Tao Groove has held on air anchor spots on two radio stations WNMC 90.7 in Traverse City, Michigan and CJAM 91.5 in Windsor, Ontario Canada. At CJAM he co-hosted “The Rhythm Gallery” with fellow Detroiter and friend, Adam Francesconi. The show has won numerous awards, including a Jammie Award for “Best Electronic Show” 4 times.
Tao Groove and his immediate musician circle produced and performed under a variety of stage names, including Liquid Idiot, Nervecandy, MadGodKliX, Toxic Jungle Cult, Neo Tribe, The Sully Rosenstein Experience, Detroit Stomp Machine and Bunkum RiffRaff.
Tao Groove independently released material locally in Detroit and a few select spots across the US, Canada and Europe, but for the most part being a local act, this is the first time Tao’s entire collection is being released online.
Some of the material is older or was created with garage electronics in a time before the cleanly generated computer symphonies of today. We tried to remaster what we could digitally.
